Message from Principal Jessica R Vieira
School Principal

Welcome to Veterans Memorial Elementary School where we are proud to be a Leader in Me Lighthouse school! With an emphasis on leadership in which students are provided opportunities to excel in class, across campus, and in our community. Our faculty is committed to our school vision: “Developing tomorrow’s leaders today”! We are dedicated to creating and maintaining a learning community devoted to high quality teaching and learning in order to support the success of every student, teacher, and staff member in reaching high standards of performance. Here at VME we refer to this leadership culture as “Unleashing Greatness”. Each day our teachers and staff strive for a focus on student engagement, rigor in the classroom, and innovative learning so all students grow in their learning and leadership. Our families and community also play a pivotal role in the success of our students! There are many ways to be involved in our school. Please consider joining our School Advisory Council (SAC) or Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). The Veterans Memorial PTO continues to synergize with staff and students to organize and support the traditions that make VME a truly special and diverse school. Veterans Memorial Elementary School has been recognized as a Gold Level Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) School, a Florida Power Library School, a Blue Zones School, and most recently by Leader in Me for Extraordinary Achievement in Leadership. If you are interested in seeing the greatness happening at VME, follow us on Twitter at @VMEPatriots, “like” Veterans Memorial Elementary School on Facebook, and visit our school website. It is my honor and privilege to be the principal of such an amazing school. We are looking forward to a fabulous school year of “Unleashing Greatness
